Information we collect

We aim to collect only what is needed to operate the app and review community submissions.

  • Submitted listing information: details you choose to submit about a place, event, organisation or support resource.
  • Contact details you provide: for example an email address if you contact us or submit information that requires follow-up.
  • Images you choose to upload: photos or logos attached to submissions.
  • Basic technical data: information needed to run the app, protect the service and diagnose issues.
  • Notification preferences: if you enable notifications, we may store an Expo push token, platform and selected notification categories so we can deliver the updates you requested.
  • On-device preferences: favourites, dismissed prompts and settings may be stored locally on your device. These are not public profiles.
03

Camera and photo access

The app may request camera or photo library access only when you choose to add or upload an image, such as a spot photo, event image or organisation logo.

  • Camera/photo access is user-initiated.
  • We do not access your camera or photos in the background.
  • Uploaded images may be reviewed by app administrators before publication.
  • If an image is approved for a public listing, it may appear publicly in the app or related QueerSpots CY pages.
04

Location and maps

QueerSpots CY may show map and directions links for places and events. We do not use the app to continuously track your location or create a public profile of your movements.

05

Notifications

Notifications are optional. If you choose to enable them, QueerSpots CY may store a push notification token, your device platform and your chosen notification categories, such as new spots, new events or new organisations.

  • You can enable or disable notification categories in the app settings.
  • You can also disable notifications from your device settings.
  • We use notification tokens only to send requested app updates and submission-status updates where available.
06

How we use information

  • To review, publish, update or reject submitted listings.
  • To display friendly places, events, organisations and support resources.
  • To respond to messages, corrections, reports or support requests.
  • To maintain app safety, reliability and moderation.
07

Public content and moderation

Submitted content is reviewed before publication where practical. We may edit, reject or remove content that is inaccurate, unsafe, abusive, discriminatory, spammy or not relevant to QueerSpots CY.

08

Sponsored cards and external links

QueerSpots CY may show clearly labelled sponsored/support cards in feed areas to help cover project costs. Sponsored cards do not appear in the Support/resources area and are not used for invasive tracking. External websites, maps, Facebook, Instagram, affiliate or donation pages are controlled by their own privacy policies once you leave QueerSpots CY.
